men design the hunt

Men are the designers of the contemporary hunt. We plan, manipulate and lure with bait. We hunt with economic snare traps, and we camouflage ourselves with prosperity so that we will always have fresh game. But in the end, we seek one thing, to devour and own the trophy. And then we all wonder why things are going so badly with the world? We tell ourselves that there are few choices outside of this norm; you can be a hunter, or you can be prey – and somehow having these two choices satisfies humanity, which is largely blinded by the need to fit within longstanding heroic archetypes…so that the dysfunction may continue.  Don Elzer
